                Meet Your PTA Board

                Heidi Overman: PTA President

                Picture
I am so excited to be PTA President for the 2011-2012 school year.
I'm married to Erick and have 2 boys.  Nathaniel is 18 and went to Cherry Valley from Kindergarten thru 6th grade and is now headed to college at the Art Institue.  Sebastian is 8 and a third grader and very much into sports!

My vision for next year is to really set-up communication and streamline processes.  I'm excited to launch our own PTA website.  You'll be able to check out what volunteer opportunities are available, when school activities are happening, what Enrichment Programs are available, sign up for the PTA on-line, order spirit wear on-line and much more!

We have such an amazing parent community who cares about their children and the education they receive.  I believe it is just one component that makes Cherry Valley so special!  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you!

                Deanna Ford: PTA Co Vice-President

Hello Cherry Valley! I look forward to being Co-Vice President with Heidi Rhymes for the 2011-2012 school
year. This will be my fourth year on the PTA board.  During these past three years I have been able to witness, through parent, child, and teacher involvement, the dedication that the Cherry Valley Community has to our PTA fundraisers and sponsored programs! My vision is to help keep the momentum going for next year so our school community can continue to benefit from these vital programs.

This coming year, my son Ethan will be going into 4th grade and my daughter Annica will be entering 3rd grade. We love being a part of the Cherry Valley community because of the warmth and support of parents and staff. To all of you new Cherry Valley parents - get involved! Your child's education is worth it.

Hello amazing Cherry Valley community! I am excited to take on Co-Vice President with Deanna Ford for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year. Although I have been active in the PTA for the past two years this is my first time on the board. Good thing we have some amazing PTA veterans remaining and some passionate newcomers to make up a great team!

Although this is my first time on the PTA board, I am very involved in Petaluma; serving on various city commissions and
committees and being involved in many of the wonderful non-profit organizations based in Petaluma.
This coming year, my daughter Amelia will be entering 2nd grade and my son Maddox will be entering kindergarten.  As co-vice president my goal is to not only make sure we keep the same level of programs and education at our school but raise the bar offering more programs and support services for the children, parents and teachers. It will be hard during these times but together I know we can do this. I also want to work together with other PTA organizations to make sure our children's education becomes a priority when it comes to funding.

In conclusion, I am thrilled to be part of the Mary Collins @ Cherry Valley community and look forward to working with you to make the next two years productive and enjoyable for the school, our children and their families.

                Melita Reyff: PTA Co Treasurer

                Picture
Greetings to the extended Cherry Valley community.  We appreciate the opportunity to let you know a little bit about ourselves and our vision for the upcoming school year.  Having taken the position of Treasurer, I look forward to
keeping accurate track of and reporting the financial status of our organization.  This role also allows me to understand the inner workings of our PTA as well as the gain insight into the relationship between staff, students and administration.  I believe this will help me be a better, more supportive parent for my children as they make their way through their elementary education.  What I hope to contribute, besides being able to report on a banner year of fund raising, financial strength and compelling activities, is to foster a PTA culture open to fresh ideas, new personalities, and unique ways of keeping Cherry Valley school thriving in all aspects.  With that, thank you for taking the time to read this message and to get to know your PTA Board better.

Hopefully you read something or felt our enthusiasm enough to come out and see what opportunities there are for you to contribute your time, energy and ideas.  Our school is so genuinely sincere in it's endeavor to create happy, healthy children with a strong educational base for continued learning.  I guarantee that you will not regret coming out and joining the PTA in such a worthwhile effort.

Keep your eye out for my two boys, Andrew, entering 3rd grade and Matthew, entering 1st grade.  They adore their school and couldn't imagine going anyplace else for growing and learning.

                Catherine Boban-Bennett: PTA Co Treasurer

My excitement of being part of this school and PTA is to meet, learn and be part of a community that I feel gives our children the opportunity to thrive in a social and educational environment.

Thank you parents and teachers for your continued dedication to this unique school.

My son, Zane, is returning as a third grader and daughter, Simone, is entering kindergarten.  They are very lucky to be a part of a great school!

                Corrina Lozanov: PTA Secretary

I look forward to once again serving as your Secretary for the 2011-2012 school year and working hard as part of your PTA team.  My daughter, Darina, is going into 2nd grade and has had an amazing time learning so far.  My son, Julian, will be entering Kindergarten and I'm so excited to see what the next year brings for him.  I love our school!
